Three year mandatory “Volunteerism”

Three year mandatory “Volunteerism”

The title should come off as a bit of a oxymoron, or does the U.S. government think the American people are the morons? The House just passed HR 1388 or the GIVE act which aims to create a “civilian security force” of 250,000 American youths to work with the U.S. military. This “volunteer” group will work with the military in times of disaster or civil unrest. Listen, I couldn’t make this shit up if I tried. The bill doesn’t mention the exact purpose of the volunteers, or what jurisdiction they would have in communities.

Now for the really scary part. Go ahead and google “GIVE act” or “HR 1388″. There are basically zero articles from any news agency on the bill. All you will find is a bunch of fucked up .gov sites that are boring as shit, which contain no summary on what is inside the bill, or blogs which will do the actual news reporting for you. What the fuck is going on? I’ll tell you what is going on:

1. The United States is rapidly headed towards a fascist state where our youth is forced into youth brigades. This country was built about freedom and the pursuit of happiness. The very idea of a draft contradicts the very fiber upon which our founding fathers created our government.

2. Google and news agencies are being filtered from topics the government doesn’t want you educated on. A simple google search using any of the following keywords: GIVE act, HR 1388, or volunteerism yield no mainstream news reports. Also, try doing a search at msnbc. Having trouble are we finding any literature on the GIVE act?

If you don’t find any of this strange, then I apologize for wasting your time. However, if blog sites are the only way to get information on a crucial bill, then we are in for one hell of a shit storm. I’m not talking about your run of the mill garden variety shit storm; this will be the first step down a very treacherous path of fascism. We cannot allow this country to implement any sort of draft whatsoever. Especially ones that are disguised as community service corps.

    Have you read the GIVE Act? I have. It took awhile to read, and I got a headache, but I read it. Would it surprise you to know that the GIVE Act is primarily amendments to law that was passed 19 years ago in 1990? It shouldn’t, because that’s primarily what the GIVE Act is.

    Would it also surprise you to hear that the GIVE Act is only asking people to do more of what they are already doing? Volunteering at the local Senior Center… Joining the Peace Corps… Helping with the Salvation Army and the Red Cross…

    There is no mention in the GIVE Act of creating a ‘Youth Brigade’ or having everyone serve three months of basic training. That is all, A-L-L, ALL a hoax generated by Alex Jones and his ‘need to be seen by a psychiatrist’ croonies.

    Here are a few more places for you to go look. The answers are there, you just have to go look for them. And, if your question is about proposed legislation, you may just have to go to one of those ‘boring .gov’ pages in order to find what you want.

    If you’re not able to go to the links above, here is the legislation that was passed in 1990. It is Title 42, Chapter 129:

    § 12501. Findings and purpose

    (a) Findings

    The Congress finds the following:

    (1) Throughout the United States, there are pressing unmet human, educational, environmental, and public safety needs.

    (2) Americans desire to affirm common responsibilities and shared values, and join together in positive experiences, that transcend race, religion, gender, age, disability, region, income, and education.

    (3) The rising costs of postsecondary education are putting higher education out of reach for an increasing number of citizens.

    (4) Americans of all ages can improve their communities and become better citizens through service to the United States.

    (5) Nonprofit organizations, local governments, States, and the Federal Government are already supporting a wide variety of national service programs that deliver needed services in a cost-effective manner.

    (6) Residents of low-income communities, especially youth and young adults, can be empowered through their service, and can help provide future community leadership.

    (b) Purpose

    It is the purpose of this chapter to—

    (1) meet the unmet human, educational, environmental, and public safety needs of the United States, without displacing existing workers;

    (2) renew the ethic of civic responsibility and the spirit of community throughout the United States;

    (3) expand educational opportunity by rewarding individuals who participate in national service with an increased ability to pursue higher education or job training;

    (4) encourage citizens of the United States, regardless of age, income, or disability, to engage in full-time or part-time national service;

    (5) reinvent government to eliminate duplication, support locally established initiatives, require measurable goals for performance, and offer flexibility in meeting those goals;

    (6) expand and strengthen existing service programs with demonstrated experience in providing structured service opportunities with visible benefits to the participants and community;

    (7) build on the existing organizational service infrastructure of Federal, State, and local programs and agencies to expand full-time and part-time service opportunities for all citizens; and

    (8) provide tangible benefits to the communities in which national service is performed.

    Hi Walt. Thanks for posting your thoughts. Even though I have not read the bill in its entirety, I feel less government is more government. The bill was originally written to include a possible draft, but at the last moment it was redacted. My main points were to illustrate the lack of news agencies coverage of the bill, and how I had trouble using google to find information on the GIVE act. Also, I read the definition of a fascist government and look at our current government and see many similarities that I can’t ignore.

    1. A popular leader who has complete executive power (thanks to eight years of Bush).
    2. A one party system. Democrats control all branches of the government.
    3. Youth service corps. (I called them youth brigades, but I was just trying to grab peoples’ attention.) These were popular in Nazi Germany.
    4. Government controlling more and more of our personal lives through inefficient use of tax dollars.
    5. An unpopular overseas empire.
    6. A government that has ripped all of its citizens rights, while spying on us.

    I could go on, but I won’t bore you since you most likely will never read my comment. The U.S. government is out of control, and disinformation is a key piece of their agenda. Hard to get the truth these days, wouldn’t you say?
