I saw this movie yesterday and I have to admit it's rubbish. Those people claiming to be experts on something just didn't know what they're talking about. Comparing Obama to Hitler, Stalin, Mao Tse-Tung ?? Oh, c'mon! That tard talking about bolshevik Russia either knew absolutely nothing about history or was simply trying to exagerate negative feel for Obama with such a crap. Yes, we all know lobbists, we all know puppet presidents, we all know strings tied to politicians - what a news! it's been there in medieval kingdoms, it's been there in ancient Rome and Greece, it's been there in ancient Egypt in Mesopotamia- i mean IT'S BEEN THERE EVER SINCE SOME STATE-LIKE FORMATION WAS CREATED FOR FIRST TIME with a man or group of people given power to control the masses. Politicians not keeping their pre-electorial promises? Well, have you seen one that would keep his?? What a naivity!! One thing - they'd all say anything just to get elected. Other thing - until they are elected and are put in the office, they do hardly have a clear picture about how does the scheme really work, what are the practical pros and cons of their decisions. World is so much complex today for simple thinking.

I have to agree with raven, I use movies like this to help reveal things I didn't notice that was right in front of you of course theres gonna be error in past quotes and stuff but I don't think school history books that are kids use are 100% acurate. in fact I'm pretty sure they're not. just listen to his facts, not his personal opinions about like why he thinks kennedy was assasinated, anyone who would jump up and say I BELIEVE THAT is and idiot.

@Walt:

Just a follow-up as I still had this tab open, on some of the things you commented on:

"In his new book Wealth and Democracy: A Political History of the Rich, Kevin Phillips fell for one of the numerous bogus Lincoln quotes that fill the literature on The Great Emancipator. The historian Paul Kennedy fell for it, too, in his review of the Phillips book in the New York Times."

"...but as Matthew Pinsker pointed out in an essay published by the History News Service in 1999, it's taken in everybody from Newsweek's Jonathan Alter to Warren Beatty."

So that's all you have to comment on?

Even historians and newscasters are making the mistake of thinking that misquote is real, yet you expect a documentary maker to heavily research the authenticity of every seemingly-legitimate quote? I'm sure he has more important things to spend his time on.

Myself personally would always do some online research of the quote and the words "fake" or "misquote" or similar to see what comes up, but that's pretty shallow thing to go after a documentary maker for.

"Executive Order 11110, made by JFK, only states that the Treasury Department can issue $4.29 billion in silver certificates ($2 and $5 Notes) against silver bullion already in the possession of the United States Treasury."

While I don't know the details of that Executive Order, that sounds to me like he was "going after" the fed by producing billions of dollars of certificates, an effective alternate form of currency. I suppose that is more like competing with the fed than directly trying to shut it down. Mind you, it's not like the fed could be shut down overnight. Even making people aware of how the fed works is dangerous, almost the entire population of modern USA have no clue what it is and how it controls the economy. Knowledge is power, and sharing that knowledge with the public places you on the enemy list of the corporate elite.

@Walt:
I have never gone to research presidential quotes and the like from Alex Jones, as I have always considered such to be quite irrelevant. The things which I have researched, the important core facts, I have thus far always come up with hard backing evidence (e.g. MSM news reports). The only exceptions are when he delves into ancient religious areas which are simply speculation as there's no way to prove any of that one way or another.

The important facts are things like Obama claiming that he would close Guantanamo and stop torture -- instead he simply shuffled things around and left all of the torture-providing executive orders and laws of Bush in place. He won't even hold people accountable for committing years-long torture of people without any trials or public hearings of any sort.

Why talk about unimportant things like presidentail quotes? Sure, it is very bad if Alex Jones is coming up with stuff like that out of context, but what do you actually have to say about the actually meaningful pieces of information in the film? I am always happy to hear from other perspectives, and I believe no one and nothing on blind faith. I have a very healthy sense of skepticism of most anyone and anything.

Actually, I've discovered that Alex Jones' work can easily be proven... PROVEN, I say, PROVEN to be false. All it takes is a little digging in a Google search engine and WAL-LAH, there is the proof that Alex Jones doesn't have a single, solitary clue of what he is talking about. ESPECIALLY when he uses things like:
- 'Thomas Jefferson was against the Federal Reserve Bank.' Thomas Jefferson wasn't even alive when the world bank was created.
- 'Andrew Jackson tried to shut down the Federal Reserve Bank.' Andrew Jackson had been dead for 60+ years before the Federal Reserve Bank came about.
-using quotes from past Presidents that did NOT actually say the things he's quoting them as saying. For example, when he says that Abraham Lincoln said, "The money power preys upon the nation in times of peace and conspires against it in times of adversity. It is more despotic than monarchy, more insolent than autocracy, more selfish than bureaucracy. I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. Corporations have been enthroned, an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until the wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed.”

That is not, repeat, N-O-T, NOT a quote from Abraham Lincoln. Here is but one of the web sites I found saying the quote is a fake: http://www.lewrockwell.com/dilorenzo/dilorenzo25.html

It states: “Historian Matthew Pinkser wrote on the website, History News Network, on June 3, the quote is nowhere in Lincoln’s collected works, and his official biographer called it "a bold, unblushing forgery.”

He says that President Kennedy was killed for trying to shut down the Federal Reserve. Executive Order 11110, made by JFK, only states that the Treasury Department can issue $4.29 billion in silver certificates ($2 and $5 Notes) against silver bullion already in the possession of the United States Treasury.

When you dig into anything that Alex Jones puts together, ANYTHING that Alex Jones puts together, you will find that he is NOT telling the TRUTH, the WHOLE truth, and NOTHING BUT the truth. You will find layer after layer after layer of lies and deceit designed to give our government a black eye because of a vendetta he has on behalf of his father.
