The 30 Best Music Videos of All Time
Almost 30 years ago to the day, MTV was launched with a unique and new concept of playing music videos on tv. This had never been done before and was very risky for the time. MTV came out with all guns blazing in an attempt to catch the eyes of the younger demographics. They thought that by combining the music with images they could convince the younger generations to watch more ‘music tv’ and thus become more hooked to the other normal shows that would then be developed.
From a creative standpoint it was a very unique invention. Prior to this epic launch, nobody had ever tried to do this so MTV was certainly taking a shot in the dark. Obviously they did their research and development and convinced the executives that it would be a good idea, but there was obviously still a big risk in trying this out. Imagine if they said no?
Well they didn’t, and since then MTV has become one of the largest cable networks in the world. In appreciation of the 30 year anniversary of MTV, Time Magazine decided to list the 30 best music videos of all time spanning all 30 years.
