Star Trek… to not be continued…

My favorite TV show by far (while growing up) was Star Trek: The Next Generation. The cast was the most remarkable group of human beings ever collected in one TV series. I’m still convinced Patrick Stewart is our best hope to save humanity.

I just got a peek of the new cast for the upcoming Star Trek movie, and I’ll be the first to tell you how awful most of the cast is. THE CAST IS TOO YOUNG! I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t give the keys to the greatest vessel in the Federation to this douche bag. He looks like your stereotypical asshole. The entire movie hinges upon who you cast as the captain. After that, everything else should fall into place. Lets run a little refresher and look at the three most recent captains to explore federation space.

Captain Jean-luc Picard – Sophisticated BAMF! Enough said. (The Picard video is a must see)

Captain James T. Kirk – Professional gigolo. I would hate to be Kirk’s wingman at a bar.

Captain Johnathan Archer – Star in Quantum Leap? Automatic 3rd place finish.

The “new” Captain Kirk – William Shatner would never pose with a fucking scarf.

I will still give the film a shot, but I was just disappointed at the youthful group. It saddens me that even Star Trek has been sold out to the vain masses. Gene Roddenberry must be rolling in his grave.
